LG abandons Windows Phone
LG no longer wishes to continue the adventure Windows Phone. Will therefore only its smartphones running Android. The launch of Windows Phone 7, LG was among the first students to embark on this new adventure. By offering multiple phones, the manufacturer has tried to attract a wide audience with differentiated models (especially with a sliding keyboard). Unfortunately sales are not there, so much so that LG has decided not to propose new smartphones on this operating system.
Information was given a few hours ago a spokesman for the Korean company in Korea Herald:
LG has no immediate plans for terminals and Windows Phone will instead focus on Android.
The total number of Windows Phone sold worldwide is not significant.
[But it] will continue its efforts in research and development.
Several reasons for this decision: the inability to customize the software, the new entry (eg Acer) or the connection between Nokia and Microsoft. The latter is significant in that Android is in the same situation between Google and Motorola. For now nothing concrete has materialized, but it is rumored that the father of Android could use to value the company he bought for billions of dollars. Read on »
