LG decides Optimus 2X not upgraded to Android Ice Cream Sandwich
In a statement, Facebook says the LG does not work on an update to the Ice Cream Sandwich / Android 4.0 on Android world first dual phone Optimus 2X. The unit had a shop opened in March 2011 and has thus been on the Swedish market for about seven months at the time of this article.
Although an update to the Android 2.3/Gingerbread been promised ever since the premiere shop lights on this day by their absence. With the launch of Ice Cream Sandwich was lit because a spark of hope among Optimus 2X-owners who were hoping that LG would simply abandon Gingerbread update for the benefit of Ice Cream Sandwich. By a Facebook post to judge, it seems, unfortunately, no better than the long wait for Gingerbread may continue without any hope for the future official updates beyond.

The decision is as far as we know of no technical limitations that would prevent or hinder an upgrade. The unit is unlike, for example HTC Desire plenty of internal memory and built on a platform – Nvidia Tegra 2 – that we find in units e.g. in Motorola Xoom or Asus Transformer both of which have been promised an upgrade to the ICS.
How much faith should be placed in a Facebook post is of course open for discussion. It has happened before and will happen again that frogs turn up in these channels, so it may be wise to wait for an official comment from LG in the form of a press release. Furthermore, it seems that LG is now removed post in question.
Update: A petition has started with the reason of the lack of updates. For those of you who want to evoke LG to speed up the update, it may be a good idea to sign the list. Sorry for the Optimus 2X owners
